Hi Baldy Mesa, This is Mr. Conrad again with some information regarding a student pick-up and drop-off but before I announce that information. I'd like to share with you that on August 12th we will have our first breakfast with the principal. And breakfast with the principal is a great opportunity for us to just chat about all things related to the school and that first a breakfast with the principal will be 9 and it will be held in our on multi-purpose room all right so let's get started a super honest traffic at baldy Mesa can be a challenge we have over 900 and 20 K -TK through 5th grade students we also have about 100 preschoolers well over 1,000 kids coming on and off campus everyday and so I mean you know anywhere would be challenging here we go we have four ways to get your child on and off campus the first is the bus if you'd like to for your child to ride the bus they can it's simply a matter of filling out a bus pass and then they get dropped off just like you would imagine any school bus would run the other three options that we have we have two drive thru gates that's where I'm simply you drive up we have your student get out of the car and then when you drive to in the afternoon we put your child back in the car those are drive-thru gates we also have a face-to-face Gates and those are Gates where you park and walk your child to the gate we asked if you use a face-to-face gate that you walk your child all the way to the gate really one of the things that I am always concerned about our kids and parking lot with moving cars so again I'm if you choose the face-to-face option please make sure that you walk your child up to the curb. The teachers will be sharing these with you as well we have our morning drop off at our school or afternoon drop off and our morning drop off we have this for you and will be passing these out at back to school night and also the very first day of school in the morning this is our school office right here our main office happens if you choose to use Gate C so this is Gate C it's in our main parking lot and what you're going to do is drive along here drive along this road you'll enter the parking lot here come down and then we will have staff members to open doors for you and have your child enter through this gate here okay simply go on out and through here right here is our bus ramp of course that is for buses are we ask that no cars are ever in there ever again we need to keep that open for our buses so that is Gate C the other morning option that we have is our face-to-face gate there is a dirt lot is right next to the main parking lot and if interested in using this option you would pull into the parking lot park and then you would walk across here this area is coned off so you walk up here and you can either have your child enter here or if you choose to you can also walk them alone sidewalk but then we ask that you stay here the only generally speaking will always if you come onto campus you need to check into the main office okay so again we asked if you stop there and then we will escort your child wherever they need to be on campus we open our gates at 7:35 if your child is getting breakfast I really encourage you to come early like 7:35 7:40 even because we want to make sure that they have time to eat if you're if you're dropping off at 8 school starts at 8 and it makes it hard for them to have breakfast. Okay so those are our face-to-face Gates and gate C we have another gate and that's gate B so if you'll enter on this dirt road here you'll go along the back side of the school believe that's the South you'll come down here pull into this gate and then through here I've generally speaking this gate works really really really well for our older kids 3rd 4th 5th graders it gets less pressure in the morning in particular are so it kinda encourage you to use that game in the morning especially alright in the afternoon we have a another procedure for pickup same thing well two things first off you'll enter here If you come early and I I really believe this I don't think there's a lot of advantage to come in super early you're going to kind of start park right about here and in the line will form the line can go down here and down this dirt road you come to school and you see a line kind of coming out here we ask that you drive down this road flippy u-turn and then be in this line one of the things that happens especially the beginning of the year and I don't think it's ever done on purpose but people try to I left her and kind of Hop the line and it tends to make people upset and and rightfully so all right so again just know that this line will kind of get long but also know that it goes really fast for the corner of our property is right here and I've timed it many many times it's usually even with your parked here it's about 10 minutes from here all the way to our Gate C pick up in the afternoon so again if the system does really work okay if you were gate b'r same thing you're going to pull in here yo you'll form a line starting starting here they'll be a line going this way sometimes what happens is this line actually starts to get on to Baldy Mesa Road if that's the case we ask that you're obviously as far over to the right as possible One of the things that very very important very important if you're doing a drop-off and pick-up is this placard right here this is our Curbsmart system this number allows us to enter your number it saves your place in line and then it allows us to line up your child with the line of cars so as soon as you pull up if if I'm picking up my son or daughter they're going to be right there for you as soon as you pull up this is very very important please please please I beg you please have this I cannot overstate the importance of this every child will have one of these every parent will have three so if you have you know multiple people picking up you'll definitely have that information a very very common at the beginning of the year for you do people say you know what I'm going to have them do Gate C and they do that for a few days and then do you know what I'm going to switch to gate B and that's okay but just please make sure to tell your teacher hey my son or daughter is going to be going to gate B or gate C I would we know where to put them it really helps us and helps you and helped everybody all right guys again this system work we've done it for many years I it does take a little time at the beginning of the year to try to get everything going but once we do we're really really solid if you have any questions please let me know thank you so much
